ENED – National Design Student Meeting

I was part of the crew that was able to create and organize the 1st National Design Student Meeting in Portugal (ENED), it was a very busy week but it was very rewarding. We made many friends around the country and had interesting speakers in there.

Kriture was invited to be there showcasing it’s work and taking part of the exposition, you can see some pics that people took at flickr in here.

I got to share kriture’s artwork with Anoik below!

Below you can see a big canvas I made for Kriture, that I believe that I never shared online. I invited André Caetano and he suggested salão 40 to participate also, you can see their mini exposition aside

I presented Kriture and some of my personal work at PechaKucha Night Coimbra, where I got the chance to see the work of Marco Moura‘s with xDA projections in paintings. And finally, I got to see them live! Birds are Indie and Gobi Bear were my neighbors in the table and Companhia Portugueza too

There were concerts, beer and meetings through the night between the 3 days of ENED, and one of the nights there was a PechaKucha where I presented my work and Kriture among some very cool people like Fred Oliveira from Webreakstuff, Bundlr team, the guys from Metaclassy, designer Sergio Alves, among others.

Chocolate Kritures!

Yes, this time I exceeded myself
For a limited time with a limited edition Pikki and Kippi are in Chocolate!

Because I’m bonkers, I decided to become a chocolatier for a couple of hours and begin a chocolate journey using my own moulds. All very clean though!

These are not hollow, 80% chocolate in there and 20% is a massive whole nut. They are made with just one part mould, so they weight like 35 gr instead of 70gr of pure chocolate tablet.

I got them a fancy package, because I like packages. I got them hearts because I felt like I should. I lost too much time making the “chocolate” typography because it’s chocolate time!

Tomorrow it’s my birthday and I already ate more than 100gr of this chocolate.

New year + updates

So the contest has ended and it was shared like 120 times yey!
I didn’t set up the shop on vacation this year again, but I’ve been using my college vacation time to finish some other works related to the stuff that I do besides Kriture.
In the last 30 days I:
I got myself an account on instagram under the name marciagaudencio.
I’ve forced myself to procrastinate.
I didn’t had time to buy christmas presents (I’m a terrible person).

I’ve managed to finishing a typeface (almost finished) inspired by Escher that I’ve started this year.

Finished a custom order that was asked in the beginning of the year by my old design teacher.

The next picture was my only design project this semester and it took forever to finish not because of the design, but because the content was made by us: Interviews, hacks in the city, write manifestos, make illustrations about several texts, research, posters.

I’m finishing new projects that I already started under these 30 days.

The prize will be the fellow above! A couple months ago, I made several polls and asked for fans to answer, the idea was for them to vote for their preferred color, eyes, mouth etc. This one was the result!

Self Portrait

Hello! I wanted to have some time to start illustrating again because I miss it. I wanted to make something that I thought was challenging, so I did this. Why my freaking face? Well, its not easy at all to be self aware of your face and painting a face is not easy too. Besides I tend to mess up the grey shades, and then need to correct them, then I get bored.
